They also prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and medications.They treat patients with pre and postoperative eye care.They are promoters of eye care.They must have good decision making skills, interpersonal skills,and speaking skills.

Education: Optometrist must complete the Doctor of Optometry degree program, which approximately takes 4 years to complete. A bachelor's degree is needed before entering this program.

Demand For this profession: The demand for this profession is growing by 24%

Reflection:I would consider becoming an Optometrist since I suffer from vision problems myself.

Optician

Optician  

Duties and Responsibilities: Optician are to dispense corrective lenses for patients as well as eye contacts. They check that lenses and frames fit the patient. They help patients choose frames. They also send order on how lenses should be ground and put on to framework. They also adjust frames to fit patients face by bending and are also to repair any frames.

Education: Optician only need high school Diploma. They are to also get on the job trains. They would also need a license or certification. Some skill needed would being able to communicate with people 

Demand for the profession: The  demand for this profession has grown 24% since 2014. 

 

Reflection: I would take this job as an internship just to get experience in that field and see how I feel about it. 

Operating Room Technician

Operating Room Technician 

Duties and Responsibilities: Operating room technician can have three different positions. During surgery they may hand surgeons  instruments, supplies, and equipment that they may need. They  are also to assist the surgeons on putting on their scrubs. They are to keep the environment  of the operating room sterile. Or they have duties such as getting consent from patients for surgery. They may also continuously check patient vital signs throughout the surgery. 

Salary : $41,032-$49,103

Duties and Responsibilities: To assess injuries that  can occur in the workplace. They are to check overall health issues that may harm the employees  or occur in the workplace  . 

Salary: $200,000-$270,000

Demand for this profession: There has been a shortage of people in this position. There is a high demand for this profession. 

 

 Reflection: This profession seems like something I would like to do. I will look more into this profession.
