Duties and Responsibilities: Optometrists must perform vision tests and analyze results of exams. They also prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and medications.They treat patients with pre and postoperative eye care.They are promoters of eye care.They must have good decision making skills, interpersonal skills,and speaking skills.

Education: Optometrist must complete the Doctor of Optometry degree program, which approximately takes 4 years to complete. A bachelor's degree is needed before entering this program.
