Dental Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities: Dental assistants are responsible for making sure the patient is comfortable, prepare them for treatment ,and to obtain their dental records.They are also responsible for keeping clean and handing dentist instruments,materials.Dental assistants are to keep the patient mouth dry and they may also take X-ray of teeth. Dental assistants may also do office duties.
Salary:$25,402-$50,655
Education: Dental Assistant programs are offered by community colleges,and technical schools.
This education usually last a year, 2 year programs are rare. Dental assistants can specialize in radiology ,oral anatomy,and dental material. Dental assistants with formal education can be taught by on the job training.
Demand for this profession: The demand for this profession has grown 25% since 2012.
Reflection: I would not consider becoming a dental assistant since oral health is not a premise I want to work in.
