This statement is similar to the quote practice makes perfect. You can not learn or get better at new things unless you actually do them. Many times people do not do things because afraid they are going to do it wrong. However, you have to try first before being good at it.People are easily embarrassed when trying new things. THey Always thinks they will be made fun of for doing something wrong. We can't learn new things out of thin air you must first do it first.
